Welcome to the San Francisco Carnival Web site

The town of San Francisco celebrations are relatively young, if compared to Venezia or Rio de Janeiro, but nevertheless its energy it's there to make performers and public vibrate.

Parade is always the 4th Sunday of May or Memorial Weekend (thus disconnected from the catholic traditions), the parade lasts one day only and begins at Bryan & 24th at 10:00 am.
Then it heads down the Mission Street to 15th st. where the parade dissolves in beer and more dancing. The show continues until 6:00 PM.
Of course the celebration goes on privately after hours, but that's another story.

Music and dancers represent in their diversity the multi-etnic population of the West Coast, its traditions, colors and "joie de vivre".

Samba, salsa, Caribbean rhythms, you name it.
