IN TABERNA

(Drinking and dancing)

Dances and celebrations, music and mystery in the "pubs" in the Venice of 12th century.

The mask was also useful to cover-up one's identity, allowing infidelity and a mix of social classes. Wine and a lute, dances all night and a good time. CARNIVAL!

Dances and music have always had an important role in the Carnival of Venice. And for the lower classes too, rigorously masked, gladly participated of the good time in the local pubs (taverne).

With a bottle of white wine, lutes and good food, very likely.
