IL CARNEVALE DI VENEZIA: ITS COSTUMES AND MASKS
San Francisco, CA USA - March-April 2000
Museo Italo Americano San Francisco
San Francisco. The area where
I live now. San Francisco has it's own Carnival celebrations, but of course are very curious about
what happens in the old world. So I joined forces with Andrea Busetto of the Novavenezia International to bring a piece of Italian culture to colorful creative San Francisco.
20 pictures printed on special Cibachrome photographic paper, that were taken in Venice during the Carnivals of 1995, 1996 and 1998 representing a variation on the theme "masks". Carefully chosen during a wild night at the light table, didn't know I had shot so many pictures those years. Oh my ...

With my pictures, the wonderful masks of Stefano Gottardo and the classic costumes of the Pietro Longhi Atelier in Venice a very lively exhibit was made at the Museo Italo
Americano, under the supervision of Valentina Fogher, curator of the Museum. The Californians responded with enthusiasm to the proposal and the exhibit was a success.
