And back on the road to reach South Dakota. By the way, the count in miles today passed the 2,400.
Monument to Indian chief Crazy Horse. We were in the Pine Ridge Reservation, close to the Wounded Knee Massacre site. It is strange how the defeated Fort Necessity deserved so much attention, while Native
American historical marks are pretty neglected (Hey, this is a political correct website!).
From far, far away we see
the wall of mountains, just as the pioneers going West. We expect to see John Wayne behind any hill now.
In Wall Drug, the all-souvenirs store in South Dakota. Everything's fake, here, and
beautifully tacky. Both Indian and pale-faces stuff! Must see. If you happen to pass by, don't forget to pay a visit.
Another view of the incredible Badlands mountains, once a sea
...and we finally met John Wayne (and the buffalos)! They´re showing a western on TV. (You bet!!)
One step ahead, for a better angle...
Badlands National Park. Awesome. Don't try to understand. Just imagine where the buffalo roamed...
