Italian born and raised, I lived around northern Italy for 10 years, then in Torino for another thirty years, and later on I got adopted by Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, colors, its carnival, nature, women.
I currently live in Long Beach, Southern California, mixing up cultures, images, colors, megapixels, words in three languages + PHP and Javascript on the side.
Photographer, writer, artist, graphic designer, computer wiz, journalist,
I have quite an eclectic character, always getting involved in new trends
and new techniques. I am curious, and hopefully always will be.
Curiosity
is what makes man discover and travel, change, create, no curiosity, and you're doomed, well I am not.
"... fatti non foste a viver come bruti ma per seguir virtute e canoscenza" - Dante, Inferno - canto XXVI, 116-120
I have worked 20 years as a professional photographer, and then moved from Torino, Italy to another continent (first Brazil, then USA), but since it was a difficult task to move and re-structure my photographic studio each time I moved, I preferred to reinvent myself in cyberspace.
I had the chance of living right at the heart of the "big bubble" (1996-98 in New York - 1998-2004 in the Silicon Valley) which gave me that extra close contact with the new realities.
With the reinventing process I didn't throw away all the skills I had previously achieved, quite the opposite. Because I know how very precious is sensitivity for colors, instinct for framing, balance in composition.
The portrait in this page is from some time ago, but I like it, and it still represents me inside. Just imagine that same fellow ten years older, gray hair, and that’s me today.
Same haircut, same flowery shirt, same sunglasses.
